/Deep… Fried… Oreo… Cookies… Need I say more?? I know I know these are not the healthiest of foods to eat but I think having some once in a while is ok, right? These sinfully delicious snacks are easy enough to make and are quiet tasty but I have to warn you, they can be addictive and you will be eating more than 1.. 2.. uh ok 5!- but that’s as far as I go! -with a glass of milk please 😉

/Every year Tan and I go on a small vacation with the girls and one of the luxuries of these vacations is the deep fried oreo cookies that we enjoy. One day I decided to make these babies at home and I have to say they are really easy to make and definitely a perk to enjoy.

/Here is what you’ll need:

/Vegetable Oil -enough to fill a 3″ deep frying pan 1/3 of the way up (roughly 1″)
/

/1 large egg
/
/1 Cup of Milk
/
/1 Teaspoon of Vegetable Oil
/
/Oreos (of course)
/
/Confectioner’s Sugar
/
/
/
/Prep Station:
/
/
/
/Paper Towel-lined plate
/
/Mixing bowl
/
/frying pan (about 3″ deep pan)
/
/Metal tongs (to dip & grab the oreos – ’cause they will be HOT!)

/In a frying pan carefully heat vegetable oil. Wisk the egg,1 tsp. vegetable oil and milk in a bowl and then gradually add the pancake mix until smooth. Dip the cookies into the batter one at a time and carefully place in the frying pan. Make sure not to overcrowd them. I find it easiest to fry 4 cookies at a time. I usually leave my cookies in the pan for 1-2 minutes or until golden brown. Then I place them on a paper towel-lined plate. Sprinkle some confections sugar and viola, you’re done! Just make sure that you don’t eat them ’til they’re cooled off a bit or you will burn your tongue. I learned that the hard way! 🙂
